Default Line Output connection

There are 2 RCA jacks labeled 'Line Output' on the back of the C28. They are not referenced in the manual. What are they to be used for?

I believe the line outputs on the C28 are linked to the headphone amp on the unit. I think this is referenced in the manual under the headphone amp section. You can use this for headphone listening or could send a low level output to another device. Possibly could be used like a home theater bypass option as well.

I see they are referenced in the headphone section, but it doesn't say what they are used for.

See above. They are an optional output for headphones or they could be used as a Home Theater Bypass for 2ch listening.

is there a reason to use these instead of the normal output with the center channel turned off using the top side control? If you used this for headphones I assume you would use a 2 to 1 plug. N Ot sure why you would do this unless you want 2 people to listen through headphones at the same time. Am I missing something here?

Sometimes people have a different setup for their 2ch listening. Maybe a tube amp or other amp option they like to use to listen to music but they don't want to have a separate preamp. This is a feature that used to be available a lot, then went away, and you are starting to see it come back. It could also be used for a 2nd room setup in a remote location. There are other use cases as well. I use a line out like this to send a signal to a whole home audio setup. Let's me have less sources that need to be connected.
