Matching a center to a pair of 802Ns?
As the signature shows, we have a pair of 802Ns and a pair 805Ns. After many a "quiet year" in a condo environment, we're playing catch up as we [slowly] try to set up an entertainment room in our new house.
As a poster on another AAF thread suggested, we've been trying to find the right Nautilus line speaker to go with our 802Ns, but, considering the Mrs' taste, it hasn't been easy to find one that's in great shape and that "goes with" the red cherry finish we have...which leads me to my questions: If we can't find an HTM-1 that works for both of us, what would you be looking for? Is it a big issue to match a center from another brand to Nautilus fronts? Please bear in mind that we've never owned a center. Thank you for your time.

HTM1 or HTM2 are your only "true" bets. You could try the 1st gen D series but the tweeter is soooooo different compared to the N...
Hard to replace with a different brand, too. Just looked, there's a HTM1 red cherry on the 'gon right now in Colorado...

Newer center?
-E-..... It has been suggested that the HTM3S center is the "newer" replacement for the older HTM1. What are your thoughts on this? Could the newer model possibly present a matching issue?

That appears to be a pretty decent suggestion. I would think it will certainly match closer than the Ds. Haven't personally heard the S, though.

Is this a mismatch?
Does anyone else have any thoughts about whether or not matching a B&W HTM3S center with a pair of 802Ns (fronts) and a pair of 805Ns (rears) would present a mismatch issue?
Thank you very much for your time.

Links to eBay/Audiogon etc are not permitted on AA. That is what PM’s are for.

Sorry, I saw the link control (above) and thought it would be okay to use it. No links - no problem.
