Are both Triton V3 and Typhon QR discontinued or only the former?

Will the new technologies of the Omega powercords be applied into the coming Triton and Typhon?
If yes, will they be called Triton Omega and Typhon Omega?

I'll leave it to Caelin and Grant to comment regarding continuation/longevity of the Triton and Typhon product lines, but my understanding is the Omega QR is a power cord product that embodies the QR and NR functionality of a Triton/Tryphon into a single power cord, not the other way 'round. My understanding is that for very high-end amps, e.g. CH Precision, DarTZeel, Constellation, Soulution, and D'Agostino, etc., these amps are often configured using power cabling directly to a wall receptacle, rather than to a power distributor. The Omega QR thus brings the Shunyata NR and QR/BB functionality to a power cord to this class of amps that would really benefit from this new technology, while still being connected directly to a wall receptacle.

Ha! Yeah, no kidding, actually more than a year's production. Lessee, if it takes 5 days/cable, that's 4 cables/month, or 48/year. That assembly operator is going to be busy! My guess is Caelin will want to bring another mfg operator trained and up to speed as soon as is practicable.

My advice is this; If you are a Typhon owner, do not sell it to buy an Omega.

So there are trade-offs and some people will prefer the Typhon setup over the Omega I am sure. There are future developments that will change the equation in favor of the Typhon.

But that said you may want to try an Omega on your preamp or DAC. Although it was designed specially for amplifiers, beta testers are already trying it on other devices with great effect. Talk to your buddy SCAudiophile.

It is generally rather refreshing - though with Shunyata wholly expected - that a manufacturer - in this instance Caelin - avoids pushing a new product - in this case the Omega to those (of us) who currently own Typhons.

Perhaps it is slightly financially disadvantageous in the short term but it is an approach which does not unravel after a few months.
