You must have purchased a new television. Are you getting the USB upgrade too?

No just the HDMI upgrade. I don’t use the USB input on the SP3.

At least you are keeping the SP3 relevant. I have not upgraded to 4K because my Sony 55HX929 has HDR from 2012 and looks better than the majority of 4K monitors I've seen. I've seen some great looking 4K televisions, but they did not look good enough to give up my old Sonys: the 46XBR8 and the XBR 55HX 929.

I'm thinking fondly of the 85" 8K Samsung...

Just makes sure it plays 1080p well because most 4K televisions I've seen do not display 1080p as well as my Sony XBRs. The 4K looks less sharp.

I would not do this due to lack of hardware or software to play it on.

It works with any player or input resolution. It would also make a great display for my photography.

I'll wait for more real-world reviews, but so far it's upscaling is said to be world-class.

I'd be happy to buy a premium 4K TV, but none of the top of the line models go above 75", which is the size I have now.

Yes, size matters!

You must not be comparing apples and apples. Something was probably not set up correctly.
If everything is the same and your eyes still tell you that your 1080p is better than 4K, your eye doctor may be very interested in talking to you! [emoji3]

Bbaby takes great pride in going old school--not that there's anything wrong with that...
