Probably tubes. Your amp has protection circuits that prevent collateral damage when there is a tube fault. Buy a complete new set and swap them out.

Doesn't the MC275 have a turn on relay? It's been a while since I've had an MC275 but don't they click after a brief warm up so as not to have audible thumps from inrush currents? My current PrimaLuna will not send anything to the speaker until tube warmup is complete and then there is an audible relay click.

I have the PrimaDonna, once turned on it plays only when it’s good and ready to.

My 275V does not have a turn on relay. It just comes up quietly. I’m not sure about the OP’s amp because it is a 275 VI with a lot of protection circuits added.

I just picked up a complete set of brand new factory tubes and will install them tomorrow. It should take care of the issue. 🤞

I recently retubed my 275’s with factory tubes. It took about 100 hours to sweeten up. FYI.
