Default If you cannot beat them, eat them!

As some of you may know, I'm a passionate Kiwi with undying support for our Cricket, Rugby Union & Rugby League Teams.

Our eternal enemy, is of course those paragons of sportsmanship & grace, 'Australians' .

This year, we whipped them in both Union & League- but due to a blind English 3rd Umpire, lost the Cricket Test Series 2 nil.

So, didn't beat them so Im eating them.

Grilled up a 500gram slab of Kangaroo meat on my Weber, lightly smoked with Manuka wood chips & green pōhutukawa leaves, well seasoned & then coated with pumpkin seeds & juniper berries, served medium-rare on a bed of mashed kumera (sweet potato) with steamed veges.

Absolutely divine food, and its great fun eating the nation symbol of Australia. A winner all round

I cook it in large 'slabs' so that the outer is crispy & inside its rear & tender- just yummy.

Here is a good website for Kangaroo Recipe's: - Gourmet Game

Australians generally love our antipodean Anzac brothers so there is definitely no bitterness from this side of the pacific. It does seem to be getting regularly weird and venomous from the land of the great white cloud of late but not sure that this is at all typical of a great people like New Zealanders in general tho.
