I'm afraid not.
I did hook up my MacBook to the Oppo via USB, and was able to play music, but when I hooked up the Bryston, I got the same nada I was getting before, All the Roon readouts read the same, just no sound. I have not tried all the USB ports on the Bryston, and I will give that a shot, but I expect no different results. Always happy to be proven wrong, of course. So, meanwhile, I'm back to playing the BDP3 straight through the SP3, and of course it sounds great. I just have this itch to hear full MQA. Between the Oppo and the SP3 DACs, it's a tough call, but right now I'm digging the BDP3/Sp3 combo.

It appears that maybe the USB board on the Bryston may be bad. You should contact them and send it in.

If your changing between SPDIF outputs to USB and using a playback method other then MPD, like Roon Ready you have to tell the service your using a different connection. In the case of Roon Ready there are two ways to do so, from within roons advance settings for the audio device (the bdp-3 in this case) or from the BDP's web ui, dashboard > service > roon ready > advance.

Does the USB port also power a USB stick? Never hurts to check first.
