Well the first reviews are online today and apparently they are mixed. The first I read from the Detroit News was that it was a epic blockbuster. Another from CNN was that it fell short of the sky high expectations. Another called it a cinematic force.

In the end we will all make up our own minds. I plan on seeing it next week when the kids and crowds are in school or working.

It’s got a 93% from Rotten Tomatos as of today. At least it definitely doesn’t look like a stinker so that’s comforting.

Glad to hear. This is a franchise that should be treated with utmost respect.
Revenue wise is also key for Disney, so better to get this one strong.

Where in the world did you watch in on a TV screen 3 days before the opening?

That means I may love it on the IMAX 3D.

I saw it with my adult son this evening, it was excellent entertainment and a good Star Wars storyline. Disney has improved the franchise and this episode continues that trajectory, IMO.

The 7 PM show was sold out, the 7:30 PM show (which I saw) was 90% full. There was a looong line awaiting the IMAX show.

I liked the Luke Skywalker part, though not the first few scenes of him. I’ll not say more in order to avoid spoiling it.

Mixed feelings.. too many stupid jokes spoil the mood in my opinion... but last part of the movie is very epic and gave me goose bumps
