Enjoying this beautiful recording again this morning:
Brahms: Volodos Plays Brahms Arcadi Volodos, piano Sony Classical (2017), 24/96 files Volodos' playing feels relaxed while at the same time emotionally involved. This is beautiful music and Volodos conveys that beauty. Great sound as well, with nice sense of space and good tone and dynamics.

Bach: Goldberg Variations
Starting off the work week with...
Bach, J S: Goldberg Variations, BWV988 Sarabanda con partite, BWV 990 Aria Variata in A minor, BWV989 ‘alla Maniera Italiana' Matthew Halls (harpsichord)  A beautiful harpsichord recording that makes the instrument come through in a vivid, detailed and atmospheric manner. Beethoven: 26 Welsh Songs
From the Brilliant Classics Complete Works set I’ve had this set for a few years but this is the first time I’ve listened to the songs - and it will probably be the last. Well done, good recording, but not my thing really.

Schubert: Symphonies 3-6 The Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Claudio Abbado  Discs 2 & 3 of an excellent Collectors Edition box set from DG. New music to me except for #5. The recorded sound is very fine.
