Does anyone else subscribe to the digital edition of TAS? I’ve been subscribing through iTunes and using the TAS app, but it hasn’t been updated for over a year and is now useless, it crashes whenever opening a magazine. I’ve sent 2 emails to the mag from their website but haven’t gotten a response. I know I can also subscribe through NextNewstand, but this only gives a pdf version, and I still have several issues to go with my current subscription, never mind the back issues I can no longer access.

In the end I will probably dump this magazine, I’ve been finding their reporting becoming less and less thorough and knowledgeable, especially around digital and file-based audio, the writing is not very good or well edited, and they have a sycophantic worship of MQA. Regardless, I’d still like to get what I paid for.

Stereophile, on the other hand, continues to impress with the thoroughness and knowledge of their reviews and columns, and the excellent writing skills and editing. And their iOS app is up-to-date.

I tried the iTunes version twice and got 2 refunds when it wouldn't work.
You can request a refund through the "report a problem" option in "your account" in iTunes.

I get the pdf version through Next Newstand and read it with iBooks on my iPad. It works very well. I'd encourage you to try a sample in iBooks if you haven't tried it.

Thanks. I may try the pdf version, but I really like the app presentation. Thanks for the tip on the refund, I’ll try that.

If you mean Zinio, no, it’s not listed on their site.

Zinio might be around, as I've communicated with them via email, this year, about how much of a nightmare their dedicated app is for me. That was earlier this year, however.

They publish via the iTunes store, as well. A particular title I purchased (Australian Hi-Fi or something like that) didn't work upon downloading and I contacted iTunes, who told me to contact Zinio, to my disappointment. iTunes refunded me anyway but had me reach out to Zinio for actual tech support.

What I had purchased didn't work on an old iPad or a brand new one. Not saying I have proof it has to do with Zinio, but they don't get high marks from me.
