1 - Wilson
2 - Kef (Reference Line only)
3 - JL Audio - best subs on the market
4 - Aperion Audio - best bang for the buck "low end" speakers.
5 - Magnepan - love the sound, just not in my system.

Honorable mention to the Bryston Model T's. They're one hell of a set of speakers that will evolve into something really special over the years.

I like what I have - the Big Macs.

And have said before that I wouldn't mind hearing MBL Radialstrahlers and horns by Avantgarde Acoustic. Both, coincidentally, Deutsche.

Hmmm... my line array and omni directional and horns. And I have an old pair of planar magnetic speakers sitting here...

I just realized that I seem to like and/or have everything but conventional box/dynamic speakers !!

Well, I've always thought that I'm nothing if not odd...

EDIT - Plus I can't count apparently- the OP asked for five...

Agree with PSB. My first "real" speakrs were PSB Stratus Golds. They sounded excellent driven by an Aragon 4004 MkII amp.

Agreed PSB. My son just bought the T3 and for 7500 they're amazing speakers. Can't recommend enough

I'm a newbie to this site and this is my first post/reply. Has anyone heard any of the Pure Audio Project open baffle systems? They typically use pairs of upgraded Eminence Alpha 15 woofers per side and either Tang Band, Beyma or Heil AMT HF/MF drivers. They are ~95db and the rep told me that they give bass down to 30Hz at only 20" from the rear wall. He uses his 2.5 watt 2A3 amp to drive his pair. He also claims that they chose the modded Alpha 15 woofers because they cross high with the driver above, and because you get full range response at low listening levels.

Hi ajant, welcome to AA! Are you asking for info and recommendations on these speakers? If so, you might start a separate thread for that purpose. This thread is really just focused on people listing their favorite speaker brands from their experience.
