On my big birthday my wife called me three times at work asking how much longer was it going to be until I get home. When I got home she called me to come upstairs. Sitting in my bedroom was an MT10. (she assembled it from the box). She wanted to match my other McIntosh gear and thats how she picked it. I was so excited and hooked it to my c29 which made me learn there was such a thing as a "phono stage". So we looked at phono stages and things with phono stages. I was thinking Nano and she was thinking c2300. So what the heck I got that. Then I realized (this was my thought not hers) that I needed better amps. Impulsively (3 weeks of reading 100 threads is impulsive for me) I got two 275s. She got involved again with the speakers. I was looking for sound and she wanted sound and beauty so her vote was for the Elipsas. Going further, she bought me about 100 vinyls. The only thing I do not understand is why she is always intercoming me to make it lower.

Very thoughtful wife getting you the MT10. What a great surprise. As for your wife and the intercom, that would really bother me. Disconnect that thing.

Thats funny (about sister Mike #1). Mike #2, I prefer the intercom because it does not frighten me. Sometimes I do not hear it and when she makes a personal visit to tell me to make it lower , I am usually so focused on the music that I jump out of skin when someone suddenly appears and stands between me and my music.
