Parker (beanboy's) New Mcintosh & Aerial 7T system

A McIntosh stereo has been on my 'bucket list' for quite some time. So a few weeks ago I took the plunge and ordered 2 MC601s and an MX121. I just got my Aerial 7Ts today.

A HUGE shoutout goes to Ivan @ Legend A/V. He has fielded numerous phone calls and got me the Aerials and WW cables. Couldn't have done it without Ivan. He helped steer me away from potential pitfalls and actually ended up saving me a lot of money in the long run. Thanks Ivan!

To come:
Power conditioner (trying to decide between the MC1500 or a Bryston BIT15)
Wyred 4 sound DAC
Aerial SW12 subwoofer
Oppo 105 BD player

My room is pretty small (15 x 12 ft). Right now it has no sound deadening, but I'm thinking of adding a rug--and possibly some acoustic panels.

My main question to all you audio geniuses out there is:

How do you go about setting up the speakers in the room? I've included a couple of pics to give you an idea of the room shape. Should I just find someone in my area (Dallas) who knows what they are doing and have them do it? Or is it something I can do myself?

Parker, a big congrats! Beautiful rig. Try setting it up yourself first - tinkering is half the fun. Pull them out from the wall so they do not sound boomy (if you need a bass boost, inch them towards the wall a bit). Use the "equilateral triangle" method. Toe the speakers in until you get a good stereo image. When the speakers disappear on well recorded music, you are there.

That is great advice. I can't stress enough the importance of starting with that triangle after the speakers are 8-12" away from the wall minimum. You might want to put some wall treatments up behind and above the speakers (and maybe between them up above your components). You can probably use something cheap and easy like bath rugs or blankets to find the right spots to reduce echo, then get some nice looking panels.

You'll know everything is great when the speakers melt away and you have 3D sound that doesn't appear to come from them.

You have a great system, I am sure you can get this to sound amazing if you put some time into setting everything up!

Make sure you do not compare your Mx121 with C2300, C2500, C500 pre-amps, because you will hate your Mx121 for 2Channel music.

Congrats. After about five months, and minor shifts in speaker angle, separation, I am getting close.... I have one speaker set back a bit from the other and it has helped.
