I'm not 100% sure, but I recall member 'Toccata' listens to MQA via his Oppo 205 and is very happy with the sound.

I can listen to the first unfolding of MQA, but until I get the usb working, not the second.

I will ask Chris Rice though to be sure.

I think that's a bit disingenuous. The Oppo 205 complies with USB Audio Class 2.0 protocols which makes it pretty much a standard - runs without any drivers on any new Mac OS and Linux OS distribution.

So it is up to the Linux distribution on the Bryston player to have that "standard" driver installed and enabled not Oppo.

Of course, you can choose not to enable USB Audio - and there are compelling reasons for that too.

Have you upgraded to or verified that the OPPO's USB firmware is 0118?

Well if the firmware is up to date and you are using the USB input next to the COAX input then I don't have any other ideas. Never had a streamer that needed a driver on either side and I have had five different ones.

Just a thought but in any of your tests with other equipment have you verified that the USB input next to the Coax input actually is working? You said you were feeding it with the Mac Mini via ethernet. Simple test would be with a laptop.

Good idea--I'll try that. Should get full MQA if it works, too.

The USB input is usually a separate board which could be bad or just got disconnected in transport. If you test with a Windows laptop you will have to download and install the driver first.
