Default Tidal and Vimberg Loudspeaker Thread

I think we should have a thread on these two speaker lines here on A.A........so there's not a whole lot of information and reviews of Tidal or Vimberg loudspeakers in the U.S. compared to other high end loudspeaker brands. I believe there is only one dealer in the U.S. at this time, but hope they can grow to be more popular. This is from the Tidal Audio website:

TIDAL - ultimate audio systems. Founded in 1999 with one goal: to build the finest audio systems in the world, defined by manufacturing unique masterpieces with jewelry finish, timeless sophisticated design and benchmark performance to reproduce music no less than lifelike.
Every detail, every single part and every step involved in making a TIDAL masterpiece exists in a world that is free from the bounds of cost optimization and budgetary limitations.

Several of us at RMAF last year were extremely impressed with the Vimbergs driven by Tidal electronics and I would say it's one of the best sounding speakers I've ever heard for the price. I don't know how much experience any of our forum members have with either lines, but so far reviews of the Vimbergs have been overwhelmingly positive. John Atkinson reviewed the Tidal Akira Loudspeaker and was pretty much blown away by what he heard (as he should've been for the $215,000 price tag).

Anyway, this will be the place to put your comments and impressions if there are any with any experiences. Some pics to follow.

They look remarkably like a Dynaudio Evidence Master. Wonder where they got the idea from...hmmm.

Not in terms of the finish, of course, but in the design.

This photo may help show the similarity...

I bought some cables from a forum friend that owns these speakers with full Kondo gear and the most significant grounding scheme I've ever seen. Miguel that designs the Tripoint grounding boxes said his system has no walls and hall ambiance and tonality are beyond anything he's heard and he's listened to a lot! They are my Powerball speakers.

Tidal is very much underrated here in North America. Their speakers go toe-to-toe with any other brand. They are definitely my lottery speakers.

I'm with you....I don't think they're underrated as much as they're just not that popular and haven't received as much press as the logical competitors. That finish on the Akiras that are picutured above is just insane....one of the best looking speakers I've ever seen (from pics that is). From what we heard from the Vimbergs last year, I can't imagine how good the Tidal Contivas or Akiras sound. I really need to hear those one of these days. Sure, I'd love to hear the La Assolutas but I can't imagine ever owning those unless there's a winning lottery ticket or an 80% off Thanksgiving sale.
