Thanks all for the warm welcome! I need to get my son down here with his better phone for some better pics. Suffice it to say it sounds great :-). It's been a 20 year project to get that system where it is now and I am VERY happy with it. The C1000 was the final piece of the puzzle and it blew my mind. I just was not prepared for it to make the difference that it did.

I'm on the hunt now for the other "1000" series pieces. If they are anything like the C1000, I know I will be very happy.

Craig....the "other" 1000 series pieces are on the same level. I don't have a C1000 (maybe someday!) but I do have an MCD1000 CD Transport and an MDA1000 D/A Converter. They are truly statement pieces and aren't going anywhere.








What preamp were you using before you upgraded to the C1000?

I upgraded from a C220 that I owned for 12 years. I truly thought that the upgrade would be mostly cosmetic and I was stunned from the moment I first heard the C1000. It's an endgame piece for me, along with the Salons and 501's. I think my only moves now will be in the DAC realm.

Craig....indeed, the 501's are great amps. I have three of them. And, they match the 1000 series cosmetically very nicely, with the "3D" front panel glass design. I'm still using my C40 preamp that I've owned now for 23 years.

Welcome to AA !
I followed exactly the same path. C220 /501’s to C1000 / 501’s.
And later on 2301’s....
The C1000 is a wonderful preamp.
The last component from the 1000 series that remained in my home and will stay until I die is the MDA1000 DAC.
