I added an Audience aR6-TSS power conditioner today with an Au24 SE power cord. It is an almost new unit that was used at the 2014 CES. It is already fully broken in. I was really amazed at the improvement in sound quality across the board. Most notably, a substantial amount of the edginess I was hearing in the treble has been eliminated. Secondly, the noise floor has been dramatically lowered, leading to much better dynamics. Lastly, vocals sound much more holographic and sound like their emanating from a black space. I honestly think the improvements I'm hearing are as pronounced as when I added the XP-30 preamp to my system a month ago.

I think these power conditioners could really catch on.

Ken

Hallo Ken,

personaly I use wireworld silver eclipse 7 xlr pre-ampli and source-preampli.
silver cable in classe AB normaly sound cold and analytical and the copper is more "musical"....well this on the paper...
Silver-copper or pure silver in powerampli class A (and tube) are very good.

my best cable are Nordost (but are very expensive Odin/Vahalla2) event. Frey2....- wireWorld - Cardas. Transparent and Mit I dont agree. a cable muss be a cable not a box with ????inside (EQ/xover corrector/??) and another piece of cable. if you need so one cable something does not work. (IMHO)!!!

I will try the Cardas light xlr and speaker too in place of the Silver Eclipse 7.
(cardas have a roll onfor the HF and LF much more as wireworld)
the best cabla? the "No cable"!

I agree too with:
Room treatments
Power cable(s)
Speaker cable
ICs

40% of the sound come from a good room!!! a dedicated line only for the hi-fi system makes all the difference.
Running Springs power supply are great products.

In europa with the 230v we have a amazing electrical system very stable and reliable

230 volt line is very good and efficient compared to 115 volts.
anyway have a mains filter make the difference.

the way to have a great sound is not so easy but with the right point under control is not impossible.

Good choice Ken. Liking my AR12TSS. As far as speaker cables are concerned. I'm having a pair custom made for me. I will let you know. If you are really curious PM me. Good stuff….

Thanks Jim! I expected some improvement but not this much. Really happy with my choice.

Best,
Ken

For me the most dramatic change was upgrading the IC between the DAC (K-03) and the amps, a 6-meter run. Maybe what I had before was so poor that it made performance delta quite dramatic.

I talk about it here: http://www.audioaficionado.org/wirew...ised-land.html

I also got new speaker cables, but I did not notice such a dramatic difference.

Today I just installed a new power cable (WireWorld Silver Electra™ 7) for the K-03 - we'll see how that goes.

Hi Carlos,

Congrats on the new power cord! You'll have to let us know how you like it. It sounds like you and Emile are on the same page when it comes to cables. Now all you need is the WW Platinum USB.

I see so much value in the WW cables. Very high quality, terrific sound and reasonable price. Can't beat that.

Best,
Ken

Hi Calos & Ken,

sorry your "best" power cable" is used for the source?

My friend Fabrizio is a cable "constructor" and work for Sonus Faber,Grandinote,...always present in the more important high end exhibition (Monaco Germany, Ces, Milaan Top Audio, Asian & worldweit exhibition...)
Faber's Cables - Cavi speciali interconnessione audio

well, the more important cable in a high end system start with the source. and after test & test I agree 100% this "way".
I have more power cable Fabers but I like too Oyade/Nordost (Frey2/Vahalla2..)/PAD/Shunyata Research.....

of course are available other great products but very more expensive....

Hi Frank,
I don't know if this is standard practice. My Boston area dealer did it this way. Your experience with Transparent is exactly what I experienced with MIT, so it was not really a fair comparison. Looks like we are two sides of the same coin.
