Good news. Are you running your line through a power conditioner of any kind first, or is it straight to the cable box? And, what model of box do you have?

My Viewsonic is on the way.

prepress.....not running the line thru a conditioner but my tv power goes thru my Monster conditioner. I do not have a cable box so my line goes straight from the wall to my tv with the isolator in between. Don't forget to have a RG-6 cable or similar available for your connection. (male to male). Let us know how it goes when you get it.

fyi.... the instructions of the isolator goes like this.....and is labeled as such on the isolator.
System = the connection coming From the cable company
Subscriber = connections going TOWARDS your TV,CABLE BOX,or other device

Ok. That's how I connected my Mondial Magic Brick, back in the days before HD cable and flatscreens. It saved my previous TV from some nastiness during a big thunderstorm a few years ago. We'll see what happens with the Isolator.

I am using that too with success. After isolating that the problem was my comcast cable box, I went to amazon and purchased one. It took me about 2 weeks to determine the problem. The humming came out when i added the JL sub last qtr of 2010. I think Hkval is also using it too if I am not mistaken.

I got my Viewsonic on Wednesday. I connected it to the cable box. The line goes through my Furman Elite 15-PFi then to the box.

The first time I turned things on Wednesday evening, I didn't have ESPN. The other channels I usually watch were there. Yesterday, ESPN was there, but MSG wasn't; it was also absent with the ISO-MAX. Fortunately, I don't watch MSG normally, so It's not crucial; but it'd be nice to have it there.

Next will be to try the cable line straight to the box and not through the 15-PFi. I could also try running things through my other Furman, the SPR-20i just to see. The Viewsonic doesn't offer any other filtering besides the 60Hz hum, does it?

Putting the cable line straight in today, I still don't have MSG. I'll leave it a few days, as things need to settle.

Well, I'm going to report that I removed the Viewsonic from my setup. I began having trouble with not just MSG, but other channels, too. This is pretty much the same result I got with the ISO-Max.

However, and this will need to be observed going forward, the 60Hz hum is not present this AM. I replaced the stock cord with a WW Stratus 5.2 power cord, on the off-chance its construction could help this. So far, so good. Once the changed setup settles in, we'll see.

prepress......sorry that the Viewsonic didn't work out for you. Just a curious question....have you tried switching the connection to the Viewsonic?

This is what is says on the instructions.....
System = the connection coming From the cable company
Subscriber = connections going TOWARDS your TV,CABLE BOX,or other device

Try switching the connection labeled System to the TV and Subscriber to the cable company.

I don't know if it will work for you but it's worth a try.

I didn't try that. Maybe I will, assuming the ISO-Max doesn't change things. Before digital cable/HDTV there was no issue with channels like this. That same Magic Brick I mentioned lost no channels and killed the ground issue to boot. I also had an XBR CRT TV, with (perhaps) a more robust tuner.
