Merry Christmas to all and Happy New year. My Alexx have been removed. I'll post some pics soon. Hopefully XVX coming soon after the New Year. My dealer is great. It took them all of 1.5 hours to get boxes out of shed, disconnect everything, and swiftly remove Alexx. Impressive.

Why did they take the Alexx already? Do you have temporary speakers?

I traded them in. Simply too much on them to remove Alexx and install XVX really close together. I could have insisted on keeping them longer. I'm currently with out speakers.

Is there an option with the XVX to have the front/rear port cover/plug the same color as the speaker? All I've seen is a metallic looking cover.

I would assume so. I specified the natural aluminum and natural metal look. I like it a lot. It exactly matches the "V" material platform upon which both the upper and lower blocks set. So that when you look at the XVX straight on you see the port cover and the two block platforms looking identical. Looks very natural. I have a lot of pics now under Member System Forum that demonstrates this. I absolutely love the Space Gray natural aluminum look and the port cover choice is an extension of this motif or style.

I will have an opportunity to hear the Wilson Chronosonic XVX at Innovative Audio in NY on Friday eve with D'Agostino Momentums and pre, Berkeley DAC and Transparent Opus cabling. Peter McGrath will do the honors. I am greatly looking forward to it. Although I am not a potential purchaser, I have a friend who is.

To say I am satisfied with my system is an understatement. But I also want to say that the XVX is merely an incremental improvement in the Wilson sound. Any of the Wilson speakers like a DAW or Alexia v1 or 2 retain much of the sound of the XVX. The older mid is mighty fine.

Charles,

Thanks for sharing your XVX adventure.

In the end, the only person that has to be satisfied is you. ;-)
