It's been 2 weeks today since the Strads. were delivered. They greet me with my morning coffee visually dominating the room, I am obviously still in the honeymoon phase. Even at low volumes with the Mc501's you can feel the music, bass is palpable, imaging of performances are on a larger scale than I had with the Elipsa's. The Elipsa's are in the home theater, while they are a bigger speaker than the Guarneri Memento's I don't hear as much of a difference due to the 2 JL subs. that I had crossed over at a higher freq. for the GM. Getting back to the Strads. truly a wonder full speaker. Every genre I have played sounds terrific. The Strads. are masterpiece speaker in all respects and I feel fortunate.

David.......I am happy for you. I know this was along time dream and I am pleased to see it come true. These speakers will be with you a long time. I predict the Stradivari's will become a family heirloom.

Happy listening.

David,

I wish I was close enough to pop over and give them a listen with you. Have you tweaked the crossover settings of your Fathoms with the Elipsas? I would think you could set them lower than with the GMs?

I have been on a Blues kick this weekend. The Strads are weeping, especially with the acoustic simply recorded albums I have played. I am sitting in the front row watching the sweat fall off of John Lee Hooker and Brownie McGhee. Play the Arne Domnerus stuff again and put yourself in those coffee houses.

The Elipsa/JL sub crossover is set lower around 50 hz, the crossover on the HT processor is set at 60 hz which is as low is it goes. I do notice that Eilpsa are more efficient ie play louder at lower control volumes. Getting back to the Strads. , I'm done for awhile

Thanks Dan a "family heirloom" would be nice . Hopefully speakers can last a long time.

David,

Congratulations! I couldn't believe you waited so long either. They are totally beautiful. That wood grain just pops! This is the first time I have got to see the rest of your room with your fireplace and audio chair. I can just picture you sitting their in the winter with the fire going and Strad's playing beautiful music. What a way to relax after a long day at the office! Yes I know we can wait on the Winter thing...
