But in all seriousness, I did listen through my headphones and DAC to "gauge" the sound and the midrange purity is quite impressive with the Falcons. I would say that is the most important aspect of monitor speakers anyways. The Falcons sound very engaging and musical.

Yes, their main strength is in the mids, that's for sure. They have a highly natural sound there. The highs and the bass will differ widely depending on the amps. The bass has more weight with the 2100 but less clarity. As you saw I put the stands direct on the floor. With spikes or anti vibration feet, the bass is much better but then they tend to sound too analytical and "hifi" for my taste.
But for low volume listening my best amps on them are the 300B Set monos.
