In order for them to work properly, the "spring" portion must engage. There is an indicator ring on the Pedestal (White on the standard, Gray on the Lightweight) so that you can confirm that the Pedestal is not under or over loaded.
With the D1100 (26lbs) and the MVP881 (26lbs), you'll want the Lightweights. The MCD1100 (30.5lbs) you'll likely want a Standard set.

Bill, the MVP881 is listed in the OM at
29.5 lbs. It's heavy. The D1100 at 26 lbs. The MCD1100 at 30.5 lbs. Seems like a Standard Set for the MVP881 and MCD1100. The D1100 is right on the cusp. Seems like either Standard or Light would work but I'll go with the Light as you recommend.
