Surround sound is great as well. The center is connected to the AMP5 and the audio is clear, crisp and detailed. the surrounds are good but my speakers are not as good so it's a little noticeable there but I don't think it's the AMP...plus - not much sound comes from the rear anyway.

I haven't had trouble with any of my sources with the SSP...I have Oppo blueray, Chromecast, Mac Mini and they all work great - great picture and sound. Shameless plug - the chromecast has some great surround sound for the price :-)
Hi akfaulkner,

I know this was a rather old thread. Just wondering since you commented that you didn’t hear notable difference between the CP 800 and Sigma SSP in stereo. Did they sound identical and no audible difference in stereo? I knew that the Sigma SSP’s front LR channels share same critical circuit blocks with the CP 800.

Did you get to compare between Sigma SSP and SSP 800 by any chance?
I currently have the SSP 800 that I use for both stereo music and surround movies and am debating whether I should sell it and get a used Sigma SSP. There are currently 3 used Sigma SSP units for sale, 2 locally and 1 on Audiogon.
Do you think the Sigma SSP would sound better than the SSP 800 in stereo?

Thank you.
