I understand your point but McIntosh sees the writing on the walls that optical and SPDIF connections are going the way of legacy connections on computers. The are very limited to 96 and 192 and having more than a couple of connections just takes up space better utilized for more advanced connections.

Are they going the way of the serial port on a PC? I'm not being sarcastic, I really want to know.
On Aurender forum section with the N10 the preferred connection seems to be digital SPDIF.
