One of the reasons he’s my favorite artist, basically gave the middle finger to the art world, and did what he wanted.
I know the actual history behind my lithograph (printed, then water color added by Dali along with his signature), but new insurance policy needs a formal appraisal. The “expert” at dali.com seems to have embraced Dali’s work ethic and churns out appraisals and COA’s for $395/pop...and also just happens to sell appraised/authentic prints on the site, so I think it’s pretty much a joke. Was hoping for a NE art nerd who can write an appraisal for insurance purposes only. Too much sentimental value to ever sell...
