None of Macs current speakers impress me. With the design engineers designs trying to emit equal energy for all octaves in a totally reverberant room it makes the HF output terribly over exaggerated. I guess for most men of a mature age this OK as they can't here thunder do to age and high level sound exposure. I Can still hear above 16 kHz and all current Mac speakers are just to bright. MY favorite Mac speaker was designed by Roger Russell. The XR 290, followed by the XRT 22 .
