Think about what you are trying to do. You want a bass transient to launch properly from both speakers - if they are not aligned the attack of the bass will be blurred. Try a recording of a stand up plucked solo bass.

Pressure is a bit trickier. Easiest way in a listening room is to walk across the back of the room (not too close to the wall) while the bass is playing and feel the pressure. Is it the same all the way across? Is it stronger from one side or the other? Is there a ball of pressure in the middle? Your goal is to make that pressure even, or as close to even as you possibly can.
