I like to pursue a system that non amplified music sounds true then every other genre sounds good too. I did notice some of his tests on my DAC Emotiva DC-1 his THD to frequency lines up with what my ears told me though it is supposedly down in the noise level at -96dB the upper frequency are more pronounced and sometimes i desire to roll it off on some recordings.
So I am not ready to write his Schiit data off as totally without merit.

Yep, once that worm gets in your head anything is possible and all the flaws in the recordings are lined up perfectly. Strange that some “good” recordings don’t make you want to do that. With a great recording, even a $300 DAC sounds good.
