Even though you didn't register the warranty I'd suggest that you contact your Nordost dealer about this issue. As long as it's an authentic product purchased through its designated distribution the plug may be covered under warranty depending upon what is determined to be the cause of failure. You'd have nothing to lose by trying except some time, and if you could get it repaired by the factory the cable would retain more of its potential resale value.
