Default Denon Announces DBP-4010UDCI Universal Blu-ray Player

Denon Announces DBP-4010UDCI Universal Blu-ray Player Home Theater News Blu-ray Hardware News Written by AVRev.com Friday, 18 September 2009

Taking many of the features of Denon’s flagship projector, the DBP-4010UDCI is a bit like the little brother of the Denon lineup. It doesn’t compare to it’s bigger, more expensive counterpart, the DBP-A1UDCI, but no one really expects it to. That’s not to say that the 4010 is lacking, it’s still one of the more capable receivers on the market. It features Anchor Bay VRS processing to ensure high video quality, and upconversion of signals up to 1080p.
The 4010 features some great audio circuitry as well, including DDSC-HD with decoding of the usual list of high definition audio formats. Additionally, the player offers Bit Stream Bypass to HDMI for Dolby Digital+, TrueHD 7.1, dts-HR, and dts-Master Audio 7.1. Of course, Denon’s newest BD player wouldn’t be complete without 7.1 analog audio outputs, helped along by Burr/Brown 24/192 PCM1796 DACs.

Connectivity is an important feature in Denon’s latest offering as well. The player is BD Live compliant and features an Ethernet port which allows not only the browsing of connected content for Blu-ray discs, but also IP control for third party controllers, firmware updates, and web browser support. The Denon DBP-4010UDCI releases this October at an estimated $1,999.
