The Shures have solid bass and clarity, but you need to make sure you have a good, tight fit. The same is true for most headphones, if the fit isn’t solid, bass will be lacking. I’d also second the recommendation for a separate amp such as the Chord, or even a different player. You should be able to hear the difference with headphones like the Shures, assuming you’re listening to good lossless source material and not just MP3. I also have an iPhone 6, and for sure my Astell & Kern sounds better, as dos the iPhone 6 when paired with a good headphone amp. Yes, the 6 is a definite improvement over previous iPhones, but still no match for a good separate.
