Indeed, For my part, I have with judicious tweakiery to the valve set of the REF5se , together with the use of Stillpoints Managed to 'tune' my system to the 16 Ohm tap with very little compromise in the frequency extremes whilst maximising all of the positive aspects, that you mention, with that particular combination.

Unfortunatly, My predilection for the 16Ohm ratio sound , Is in the main, the cause of some angst ATM as I am currently running with a loaner GS150 (note thread elsewhere) and whilst I can we'll see the GS, with the required break in time on the clock, Outperforming my REF150 on the 8 Ohm tap, yet preventing me from serious consideration due to the lack of an option for 16Ohm operation with the new model
