Focal recommends the use of Tchernov cables for performance, while in a positive relationship with the Russian manufacturer; unlike the acquisition of Naim, which is an actual business decision, focal has never associated these two as great pairings, although now, by the same company.

I have heard Focal speakers benefitting from Tchernov cables with regards to performance, and this is not the same with Naim, and hence it is communicated as such in a corporate level. I am of course not assuming. ")

Being one of the largest loudspeaker manufacturers in the world, focal would be able to work with many cable manufacturers to recommend. Of course dealers will recommend what they carry, but if it comes directly from focal's office, it tells you something. It does. And not just by means of brand association. It obviously doesn't give focal any advantage being associated with a "smaller" brand in cables (today).

Focal doesn't deal directly with the consumers with regards to sales, they all go through channels of distribution and specialists. I am of course writing about the "classic"/ audiophile loudspeaker ranges.

There is definitely some business aspect to this pairing, but it's obviously more in regards to performance.

Naim, would be a very business like decision, on the other hand.
