I have never spoken to Focal directly but I would be very surprised if Focal specifically promoted any brand of cable. I can see a dealer or a distributor who handles a certain brand suggesting one, but from the discussions I have had with factory reps they always shy away from saying you should buy this or that cable.
When they go from Dealer A to Dealer B for a show they have no idea what line that dealer carries.
