I have a pair of LCD3s and tried them with a pretty wide variety of headphone amps - I find that the detail/textural abilities of the LCD3 make them an excellent match for tube headphone amps - but, the amp needs to have a lot of current or else the LCD's can sound "restricted" or congested.
So my vote goes to high-powered tube amps for LCD3's.
They are GREAT headphones BTW - enjoy!!
