I upgraded from the N802 to the 802D in 2005 and in 2011 to the 802D2. There was a significant sonic difference (to my ears) from the N802 to the 802D. I can't really say that the move from the 802D to the 802D2 was as significant. Evolutionary more than revolutionary.
Can't wait to hear what they do for the v3. I'll take mine in piano black to change from my usual choice of cherry.
I would love for them to bring back the 801 and perhaps do something that ups the ante for their top (non Nautilus) model.
