NCF is a Furutech's term for their Nano Crystal Formula. Apparently, these are resonance-reducing beads that help make the Flux-50 resistant to the impact of vibration on its noise-cancellation properties.

I don't know how much of a sonic difference the Nano Crystal Formula of a Flux-50 NCF makes compared to a non-NCF are, but I used a Flux-50 for quite a while and can attest that an original non-NCF Flux-50 brings all the sonic improvements that Dan described very clearly in his series of reviews. In fact, it was Dan's review that prompted me to buy one.
