Lange & Söhne actually launched three new timepieces at SIHH 2016.

My fav is the Richard Lange Jumping Seconds:

The Richard Lange Jumping Seconds is basically a precision driven watch made for scientific observation with clean and easy to read dial. Scientific observation watches are usually meant for people working in science labs and technical research teams. Now it doesn’t matter if you are a scientist or not, as this watch can very well be your everyday dress watch. The regulator-styled display is legible and clean as a whistle.

However, like usual regulator-styled watches which have the minutes hand as their central hand. The Richard Lange Jumping Seconds comes with a central jumping seconds hand. The jumping seconds mechanism is not something we haven’t seen before. It is a system similar to the seconds hand of a quartz watch, which makes it easy to read the time to the accuracy of a second.

A scientific watch also needs to be precise and Lange has tackled that challenge by adding a “constant force” mechanism in the movement. This intelligent little device makes sure that the power is delivered to the mainspring without any fluctuations, which might disturb the accuracy. The movement that masters all these technical complexities is the Lange’s all-new in-house produced L094.1 caliber. The 390-part movement that provides power storage of 42 hours can be observed from the transparent caseback. The fine-looking A. Lange & Söhne Richard Lange Jumping Seconds is available in a platinum case and in a limited edition of only 100.
