Very full bodied, texture, Air, Analytical, pulls out fine details and actually made me jump on recordings that I know well. Great Bass. My Senns 650 have good bass but it was more of a one note sound. Big difference in price and sound.
Do they have the sound-stage of my Elipsa's?....Nope!
The ear-cups feel like giant pillows stuck to your head. I have a constant headphone sliding sensation on day uno, but I have not had the time to play around with that part yet. As bulky has they are, I don't feel as beat up as I do with my Senn 650's (After Hours of listening). I think it might be the lambskin cups saving the day. They look like a dentist morphed a retainer and headphones with an endangered tree. The sound is outstanding! My brain is either adjusting or they are getting better every hour.
They will get even better with a proper Woo amp and an Audeze upgrade. A Dark Star Amp will join the party, if they do not become a furniture prop after 6 months.
Fun fact:
My McIntosh C46 plays them louder, than my MCD201.
Neither can drive them well.
