If you don't sit too far off axis a phantom center may work for you. I run a phantom center in our Wisconsin home and it works if you stay within about 30 degrees of the main speaker's centerline. That's with Ohm F main speakers, which are omni-directional. Any further off center and the dialog positioning doesn't match the actor's screen position anymore.
I've never tried it with the Futura's because I already have the Vox center and it would be a real bitch if it sounded better without it. I don't experience any timbre or position shifting, and voices appear to come from the actors, so I think it's all integrated really well.
