I live in the hills and have an ST-2 and a Wineyard Yagi (for different systems). My house is at the base of a mountain which partially blocks most signals, but the ST-2 picks them up well (although the Yagi is better). I'd try the ST-2, which is only around $100, and if it doesn't work, sell it. I bet you'll be fine though.
