I own a 50 f1.4 that I bought in 1971 with my very first motor driven Nikon Photomic FTn when I was in junior high school and it was good for low light candid shots THEN.

Fast forward a few decades, the f1.4 lens is no longer needed with modern cameras. You can set the ISO speed so high that the maximum open f number hardly matters anymore and you'll get a better picture than you ever could before.

ON THE OTHER HAND if you are getting a 50 f 1.4 so you can shoot things like close-up portraits and have a very shallow depth of field, then you should consider the 50 f 1.4. I think it has very limited use these days.
