Joe,

Actually it states to start the process with your system loud enough to pressurize your room. Eg probably a normal volume - on the C2300, more likely a setting of about 30 to 35. Then as you bring the left speaker toward the listening position, you may need to turn it down by 3 to 6 dB because when the speaker couples with the room, the bass volume will become louder.
