From what I've been told, the algorithms are very sophisticated and the compute phases take a good chunk of horsepower that you would not necessarily want to pay additional for to sit in the Wavelet essentially being computer boards idling, consuming power and generating additional noise, RFI/EMI, etc...24 hours per day so offloaded the processing to separate servers makes a lot of sense acoustically (at least to me).
