I cannot talk about the StillPoints but when I had my WP8, I had a bass issue with the spikes. The bass was a bit fat and unclear but most of all it contaminated the mids.
The first thing my wife told me after listening to a few tunes in english was :
"Is it normal not to understand the lyrics anymore ? ". We are french and our previous speakers were the PMC EB1i with stunning mids transparency.
Switching the spikes with Pro Audio Bono anti vibration feet made a huge difference.
The bass tightened and got much leaner and defined. And a whole world of mids opened up.
An other plus of such footers is the ability to move the speakers easily.
