I posted it more so that you can see that there have been changes made to xover, the bass driver has a different non hybrid aerofoil cone (our 802D3 have aerofoil diaphragm with non-aerofoil dust cap while the 800D3 has a full aerofoil diaphragm and dust cap), the tuning is obviously different, the position of the drivers are more optimal, the cabinet has different bracing with aluminum matrix supports vs the ply-wood matrix on the 802D3.
The 800D3 are better, there just havent been enough out there yet.
With a 10db and 20db distortion decrease in the 2nd and 3rd harmonics, the midrange will be cleaner.
What you could be hearing in a room that has just been completed and if there is bass bloat, is likely SBI or some other anomaly.
I doubt that with all the tech, the 802D3 is teh best they got.
