I use Alexia and Ultra 5. I think it is better if you remove the base for spikes and attach the Ultra SS directly on to the bottom surface of Maxx.
You are now raised the speaker too much and you loss some bass energy by doing so. Maxx is a tall speaker already, raising it further will create a sound stage too high for most people.
