These pressing plants cutting corners better hope their name does not get out, forums will easily call them out and make it known.
I know I have some records cut from CD/16bit, you can tell the difference, although it is not that many.
Any slowdown in vinyl sales (new) is connected with the long leadtimes and order files pressing plants have now. I suspect used records are selling like hotcakes.....
So far everything I buy is cut from 24bit master files and mastered for vinyl, the sound quality tells me this, as compared to a hi-rez file.
