You see it on the mid right-side of the 6 as a white protrusion with nine holes, five over four. It's a common connector with a small footprint. Canna read its label but there is also one on the back of the GSPre identified as 'RS-232 control'. RS232 is a standard for serial data transmission. It could be an input for updating the linestage's operating system or possibly for diagnostics. Could be wrong but I'm (again) vaguely recalling the computer on the REF 5 ran on a version of Windows. Someone else may know better.

The DB-9 was used as a serial port on earlier PCs for peripherals, eg as an early mouse port or for a serial printer. Several connectors for these purposes have come and gone to where nowadays that interface is USB. It may also be called a DE-9, but asfain they're the same.
