I have a Thorens TD124 mkII, which I love, but when it started having speed issues a couple of years ago, I purchased a preowned VPI Aries 1 with SDS.
I would still like to get the Thorens repaired, but since setting up the VPI, it hasn't been a top priority. If I had to choose just one, it would be the VPI. I have no urge, whatsoever, to upgrade turntables, and consider the Aries a lifer.
